Car Camping White River National Forest

Adam, Kari, & I went four wheeling and car camping in the White River National Forest over the the fourth of July weekend.
River crossing fail on Peru Creek

We found a sweet camp site on Peru Creek near the base of Chihuahua Gulch trail. The following picture were taken with iTimerCam iPhone app. You just set it up and it starts taking pictures at regular intervals.

We melted chocolate and dipped marshmallows into it.
We cleaned our hands with Playtex personal cleansing clothes...vag wipes.

Lost Creek Wilderness

I went solo backpacking in the Lost Creek Wilderness area above Deckers Colorado. Hiked in a couple of miles and set up camp. Day hikes about 7 miles the next day to check out the valley.

 Yum morning coffee
 Beaver Dam

Its called the lost creek wilderness because Goose creek frequently disappears into caves and under enormous boulder falls. The creek is teaming with brook trout.

I climbed up this crazy granite dome, around it over it and almost fell off it a few times.
 Lost the creek again.

 So sleepy.
 Packing back out.
